I’m hoping your Fourth of July was even HALF as much fun as mine was! Now, I did have to work, which means the Little Man spent his Fourth with the Grammas and sparklers and he tells me, “it was awesome, Mommy!” I’m so lucky to have the MIL helping us out when we work.
That being said, work consisted of a great gig with Dangerous Curves at the Las Vegas Country Club. What an amazing place! The girls and I sang our curvy version of the National Anthem to bring in the fireworks and it was a blast!
The next order of business was to head on down to the lovely Paris Hotel and visit the new Gordon Ramsay Steak. Before I continue, in the interest of full disclosure, I am an employee of Caesars Entertainment and my husband is an employee of Gordon Ramsay Steak.
The restaurant was completely full, as it has been every night since it opened on May 7th, so we walked through the “chunnel” and milled about the bar area and low and behold the seating gods were with us! Four chairs together at the bar of Gordon Ramsay Steak! We sat down and immediately I grabbed the iPad to look over the drinks….yes, that’s what I said, the iPad is the drink menu! The geek girl in me is completely enamored and I am zipping around the pages and looking at all the drinks and the amazing descriptions. Of course, we are all wine drinkers, so I ask our fantastic bartender, Alan (from Vancouver, what a doll he is!) if I can taste a few of the wines by the glass. After a couple of tastes, I settle on the 2009 Millesime Chablis as my first glass. Ahhh, there is something wonderful, light and fresh about true Chablis. It is the perfect way to start out your culinary adventure as it prepares the palate for tasty treats without overpowering it. The color in my glass is that of light straw, with a crisp apple overtone and a pebbly, river rock finish.
I order the Fish and Chips from the bar menu. Not really my kind of food, but I definitely wanted to order something that is a Chef Ramsay signature dish. Holy Moly, it is unbelievable!!! Loup De Mer with French Fries served with creme fraiche tartar sauce! I asked for extra sauce as it is truly spectacular tasting! The fish was full of flavorful and the batter was light and crunchy without being overpowering. My second glass of wine was a bordeaux blend, Chateau Bernadotte 2007, Haut Medoc. I absolutely love this wine! It was like drinking flowers while relaxing in the midst of a french perfumery. Total bliss!
But the Pièce de résistance was the coffee service! Are you kidding me?! Amazing! You should RUN, not walk to Gordon Ramsay Steak. Reservations are an absolute must. Bon Apetit!
